Review & Description

Chantal has been producing the world’s leading enamel-on-steel cookware for 25 years now, and along the way we’ve learned that beauty is only skin deep. Chantal’s enamel-on-steel cookware is developed from an age-old recipe that through the years has been perfected to keep pace with today’s demanding lifestyles. Enamel-on-steel is made by fusing colored glass to metal - melted together at just the right degree creates a new compound that’s durable and corrosion-resistant. In fact, it’s so tough that it’s used in high-traffic locales like roadway tunnels and subway stations. The “A” quality enamel used by Chantal is resistant to acids and alkalines and is made from natural materials, such as sand and minerals. Because the surface is nonporous, it is naturally stick-resistant, non-reactive to acidic foods and nonabsorbent to oils. This, coupled with the unique characteristic to withstand freezing temperatures, makes Chantal well-suited for make-ahead meals. But the benefits don’t stop in the kitchen. Our Cook & Serve pieces are designed to go beautifully from the oven or stovetop to the table or buffet. The beautiful colors are guaranteed to make your tabletop beautiful and are ideal for entertaining. Many cookware manufacturers have introduced lines featuring enameled exteriors but Chantal enameled cookware is one of the long-standing originals, providing both excellent performance and colorful flair for your kitchen. This 4-quart soup pot has a gorgeous, high-quality German-made enameled interior and exterior that are resistant to chipping and fading, easy to clean, and encased in stainless-steel rims for added durability. In addition, the nonporous enamel won’t absorb food odors or flavors. A heavy-gauge carbon steel core gives the pan substantial heft and heats up faster than ordinary cookware. This petite soup pot is just the right size to simmer soup for four, boil a ½-pound of pasta or six Russet potatoes, or poach four pears. The pot can also be teamed up with Chantal’s 2-quart steamer insert to steam vegetables. The steel-rimmed, tempered glass lid has a high, domed shape and is transparent so you can cook without removing the lid and letting steam escape. The lid is oven-safe to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and, without the lid, this pan is oven- and broiler-safe up to the highest temperatures. The soup pot has sturdy enamel loop handles on either side for carrying this from stove to tabletop for serving. In the event that there are leftovers, this cookware is safe for the freezer, plus it is dishwasher-safe for easy cleaning. This cookware is safe for use on traditional, ceramic, and magnetic induction stovetops. Chantal offers a lifetime warranty on the enamel coating. --Cristina Vaamonde Read more
